pandas are cute. and fat. fake pandas. not real ones. real ones look clumsy and yellow/dirty for some reason.

HANDPHONE COVER LESSON

today, on the way home, i decided to get a new hp cover. so i stopped by this pasar malam and browsed. i saw a black faux croc skin one that was cute. so i asked the guy how much it was. he gave me a discount so it was $20 to $15. fair enough. i was expecting more. then i realized ive no cash, so i was like #ohkay and was apologetic since the shopkeeper has already taken it out etc. after that, he said "its ohkay, $10 is fine". i was rather embarrassed but since he insisted, i was like #freddiemercury.

so now im at home staring at my hp cover, thinking "lucky that i wore makeup home". else ill still be stuck with my cui hp cover like my cui face. the reality of superficiality.

either that, or he is really nice.

OLD PEOPLE REVELATIONS

ive never felt it since im generally laidback and lets say ive never tried to quantify my goals or success. however, i feel that im at a stage of life whereby im actually motivated to improve. and grab opportunities. although it may seem late and most have passed, i believe that more will come my way. if im not close minded. who knows what may come. #optimistic #realist.

this morning, i got an unexpected call. i was about to reject, citing school as a reason. then i realize, its more of an excuse isnt it.? i do have quite abit of free time albeit my nonstop nagging of how ive no time. i do have time to read my mangas, play my games and sleep. so i guess i can sacrifice it for other things in life now.

my lunar new year resolutions #hipsterlikethat just presented themselves in opportunities and im going to keep it. its not losing weight(fk that, fat la fats. ill be a pirated Boba Fett. like, Jacq Fatt.) or anything like that this year. which is another sign im getting old. fml. but this year, it is something of an entirely different nature. and hopefully, itll make me feel satisfaction.

CNY AT YUN'S

this year's cny is rather different. firstly, we didnt bother to wake up early. we just woke up at an insanely late time and plodded down to the granny's. since we were late, we met the paternal side that ive never seen before.!!! there were cousins, aunts and uncles whom ive rarely or never seen before. really exciting and cool. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ there was this one kid about 14months who was too damn cute.! though it made me feel old in retrospect. i was an aunt all of a suddennn. ugh.

there were some family photos there but none with me. wonder if ill ever be able to get it since i didnt talk to the kids and was a socially awkward penguin there. ugh.

after that we went to yun's and while the adults chatted, we camwhored. hehh. (￣(ｴ)￣)ﾉ

i super love this huge hello kitty head.!!! now if only im not allergic to fluffy soft toys. sigh.

im extremely grateful for this year's angbao haul too. now i wont have to worry about my semester's hall fees and school fees. #freddiemercury.

REUNION DINNER

school has been busy. reaallyyy busy. its so busy that im doing work on cny eve. and it feels like the work just isnt up to standard and wont be no matter how hard i try. ive come to the realization that effort does not translate to results at all. so at times i just have to settle for whatever and just live life. well, in regards to coding only of course. hahaha. had a workshop on saturday so i was later in going back home.

busy busy

its surreal how the assignments all have deadlines in a week when its barely week 2. saying "sorry, cant go, have assignments due" with people responding "what its only week 2.!" yea i do know its week 2 but too bad we are from different courses, different modules, different assignments due so bugger off and let me finish them.

bah. people need to understand that. i dont see how going "why do you have assignments now.?" makes my assignments magically complete and submit themselves.

ohkay. end of rant. lets all know that we all have different schedules. bye.

RANDOM UPDATES

being in hall = me not having much mood to blog. im perpetually asleep there. a little too much of sleep too. but with no classes for the first 3 days of school, i was really bored. ironically i fell sick after too much sleep. o(-`д´- ｡) even with all the vit c popping etc. bleh.

after the holidays, i slacked up on my routines. so i bought the HADA LABO set.! it has no fragrance etc which makes its great for me. been using the toner for quite awhile and it did moisturise so i bought the facial foam and lotion. the foam removes the oil from my makeup remover easily without stripping or making my face feel tight so yaye.

bought a new sketchbook in A4. doodling on first page now.

met yun for awhile after my first day of class. went to jurong point. hahaha. had cake at bakerzin and got a mini NYX haul.! got a lipcream, lipsticks and a blush/bronzer. idky a bronzer but i guess it makes me look like ghostly. the lipcream's texture is awesome. its less sticky than glosses, less oily than most lipsticks and its MATTE. awesome possume. not drying too.

bakerzin is like having a promo for lunch sets and tea time cake sets which are super worth it. a cake + a beverage for $8.90. #notbad.

chose a dark choco cake with berries soaked in wine. has some cream cheese layers too. shockingly it was too much and i didnt finish it. ヽ(￣(ｴ)￣)ﾉ

passion fruit soda that never ends.

had work yesterday.! as per usual, it felt more like playtime. was piecing together the foam squares together and they are so cute.!!!! i love the frog. hee. #childhoodrelieved.

then a balloon master came. TRAVIS. omg he is damn cool pls. hahaha. a jacket of +10 to balloon sculpting skillz. and he made this iPad game which was fawesome. saw the trailer video and i wish it can run on andriod. this young boy was testing it for him and the game looked so so so fun.

LIPSTICK SWATCH

its 1:22am and ive a morning class tmr but i cant sleep. so here is a lipstick swatch prototype im making for my cousin who has a store worth of lippies. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ. its printable on typical business card cardstock and in greys to make the lipstick colors pop.! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ

preferably printed on thicker and rougher white cardstock so it retains the colors well.

small details like brand, collection and color.

imagine that the crayon smudges are lipstick swatches.!!! the bottom three boxes are for similar colors and ease of comparisons/contrast between similar lippies.

MINECRAFT PARTY

today was the day of the long awaited MINECRAFT LAN PARTY.! its so so so funnnn. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ

at first i woke up with like swollen eyes and a runny nose so i couldnt get out of bed. but after popping vit c pills and concussing till 2pm, i was REVIVEDDDDD. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ so i packed my laptop and walked to eusoff. hee.

due to my epic sense of directions, i walked to temasek thinking it was eusoff. fml when i realized that eusoff was further up the hill i was like "ohhhhh..." #soclosefreddiemercury. kinda used up my entire annual quota of exercise and sunlight exposure this afternoon. totally worth it though.! if i didnt go ill be rotting in my small square in hall doing nothing.

meeting them irl and un-pixelated in 3D was so cool so cool. ahahahaha. so we set about playing minecraft, setting up the new world, making chuck norris jokes, 9gag references and it was so epic fun. watched parts of Dark Knight too.

the NPCs look rather...ugly. theyve weird noses.!!! thought they were beards at first. but the layout of the villages were nice.!!! first thing that made me laugh like mad when i logged on was seeing darth dk. hahaha. the awkward moment when you meet darth as a stormtrooper in minecraft. then chuck norris appeared. hahaha.

le sigh. totally enjoyed today.! too bad i had to go home for dinner with the brother and pick up some stuff. BUT. ill be back tmr to play. hee. with sandwiches. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ

NEW PROJECT

ive started a new project which will most probably take ages to complete. hopefully itll be done by september. im glad its coming along so well but with the hectic modules the coming semester, itll be a slow slow slow progress.

ive done most of the line work. but thats like 1% of it in its entirety. at least i managed to pack my luggage for hall tmr. im going minimalistic. the more i shift, the less i bring. guess thats good i guess.

shifting back to hall => back to a steady diet of coffee and instant msg-laden food. gosh. ( T∀T)

but im highly thankful that this semester's bidding were flawless and minimal hassle. normally ill have to bid/appeal/bid till i end up with rubbish but ive got all 5 modules easily this semester. albeit motherexpensive. le sigh.

a new cover i sewed for the book i binded that day. has elastic too in case the pages fall out cause of ive not much confidence in the durability of the book. hahaha. the elastic was dyed brown in coffee. how organic. hahaha. else its so ugly to use white elastic for this brown cloth.

the inside slot. best part is this is reusable for all A5 sized books. #freddiemercury

inkscape is fun. highly intuitive. if youre looking for an illustrator, give it a try.! although i just dl-ed it but it seems good so far. doodled abit on it too to get the hang of it. a 1800dpi mouse is rly unsuitable for such stuff. meh.

nyanja is actually a cat who thinks its a ninja and loves coffee.

thus it appears randomly on people's notes and desks. hehh.

NEW SKILL ACQUIRED: BOOK BINDING

today i left on a voyage for nice sketchbooks but i couldnt find any. not to mention the bloody amount of kids in Popular cause i conveniently wasnt informed that tmr was start of school etc etc etc. fml ttm. sigh. 

im highly anal about my sketchbooks. theyve to be off-white, bounded not spirals, and be of a reasonable thickness(wtf uses a sketchbook of 20pages.?! not even enough for 5days.!!!). and cause i dont like to doodle on expensive paper(feels so precious that it stops my doodle juice and the constant nagging that ill screw up and waste the pretty book), i cant bring myself to buy moleskin. #cheaplikethat. thats when crafting skillz get important and i decided to make my own. #challengeaccepted.

its great cause you can get whatever paper you want, whatever covering you want and requires minimal crafting skills.! plus the materials are common too. like staplers and glue. nothing too specialized. hee.

this newly unlocked skill is highly useful for future sketchbooking purposes. i scrummaged around for materials and made a rather half-assed one in less than 45mins. the backing was made from random not very pleasing scraps of cloth but its ohkay. shall find better ones. #soclosefreddiemercury. hahaha.

the book is good for doodles and character studies since the book is technically "free" thus you doodle whatever rubbish in it. the results are promising. might make some more with better paper etc after i finish this book.!

A STORY: THE CIRCUS

a short love story that i doodled today.

might develop it into a better project. ive a few more stories but trying to get them perfect is hard. so now ill make do with doodles/drafts. somehow doodling directly with a marker makes it flow easier. still not what i want though. actually, ive no idea what i want yet.

trying to transfer this into a more thought out piece of work is stifling me cause im not satisfied at all with the style so far. oh wells. may this help me get over it.
