1. Print and trace the pattern pieces onto the felt.

DIY Elastic Body Harness

so i was on tumblr and chanced upon body harnesses. they are oh so gorgeous and can get crazy creative. although it does seem a little dramatic for singapore, i couldnt resist and made some myself.

materials:
elastic about 1" in width
studs
a hoop
needle and thread

as i dont have a body form, my method of making sure it fits consists of me putting it on and measuring the lengths of each strap multiple times. also, to reduce the hassle of numbering the straps, i simply cut them out only when i need them.

do take note that the elastic is facing the right side up and not twisted else it can get frustrating to unpick the stitches and re-sew.

also, make sure there is enough head space at the halter so you dont end up with a harness which cant be fitted over your head.

for this tutorial, im making a halter body harness with an inverted pentagram.

you can choose to add studs or leave them plain.

Caged Bralette DIY Designs

im in love with all things strappy now but it is tough to find bralettes which have the exact design which i want. thankfully, they are quite easy to DIY and there are many helpful tutorials out on the web.

this from-scratch tutorial is god-sent and i adore it to no end! now im obsessed with fold-over elastic for every project.

or, you could easily convert a black bra by sewing on more straps.

basic materials include tonnes of elastic, fold-over elastic, stretchy fabric and swimsuit clasps. they are clasps designed for swimsuits which i think are more aesthetically pleasing than the usual bra hooks. they come in more colors and are made of a simple plastic/metal design which is more discreet.

here's some of my designs!

and a base for your own designs.

for people with more boobs, add a dart into the bralette as such.

Fathers' Day card

i wont be home this Fathers' Day so i made a simple card in advance to fill in and post it back home.

my dad likes to say stuff such as "WHAT THE TOOT" instead of actual swearing when we were kids and i guess it just carried on now. though he does swear more openly these days in english and not hokkien which he thinks the kids, ie. us do not understand. though we did. i mean, who didnt right. especially swear words.

to use, download this image in it's original size and print on A4 card. the size of the card is actually A5 so that when printed, cut it out from the A4 card. fold it in half and it results in an A6 card.

Tattoo Choker DIY

Handmade Tattoo Chokers by me at:
Dust In Mouth

so recently i am obsessed with tattoo chokers. you now, those 90's kids accessories that EVERY cool kid had? yuppp. they are now making a come-back in a lot of harajuku looks.

but since they are not very mainstream these days, the prices on etsy, ebay etc are all jacked up to ridiculous amounts. and much as i was obsessed with it, i refuse to pay $35 for something that used to go for a dollar just cause of a fad.

so i decided to make my own. AND IT WORKED.

here is my take on the tattoo choker/bracelet/ring using fishing line. stuff that comes in 50m packs for $3.50.

sadly, i could not find lines in black. this reel has 10m of 5 colors. blue, red, green, yellow and clear. quite an awesome steal at $3.50. got it at the hardware store near my house.

the end product!

note that for a bracelet, it does stretch quite abit so a knot chain length of 8cm was sufficient for me. getting consistent tension and knot length is very important. else it ends up looking very messy and bleh.

if you just feel like buying them instead, do support me at:

Book Marks

the holidays are for reading. especially during the crazy rain spells.

made a book mark of no-face from Spirited Away!

and this tea bag book mark.

ice cream bookmark!

bidding for modules is extremely annoying this semester. i appealed for pc1221 and the appeal to bid for it got through. BUT i was too poor to even make the minimum bid. wtf.

Simple Christmas Cards DIY

IT'S DECEMBERRR. which means CHRISTMAS. yes yes. i'm one of those who celebrate christmas as a purely commercial festivity. an excuse to get all my supplies together to make cards for people i care about. sort of a mushy card to thank them for them being them. so if you get a mushy card and get goosebumps reading them, too bad. HAHAHA. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)/

scissors, glue and paper is all you need! kinda.

i've had this zigzag scissors since primary school. still working super well!

cut various stripes of zigzag and straight lines.

glue them all onto a different colored sheet.

hole punch some red paper for baubles.

cut the tree out!

i used glitter polish for this cause i ran out of craft glitter. not too bad since the shimmers are smaller.

there were other variations of colors but i thought green+red was the most festive! the rest looked like christmas on LSD though so i scrapped them. hahaha.

ah. my new hello kitty nails + pink + glitter. i kind of feel this saccharine overdose everytime i look at it. but not enough to regret. hahaha.

Black Nails

pastel nails got boring after awhile so i went and got some black polish! downside of black nails for me is that i look like a emo/goth kid since i wear black mostly to begin with. hahaha.

from black french which got boring in a day. so i added the zebra stripes. it was from a nail sticker, kind of an instant manicure with art. then the bling joined.

when the previous nails started chipping, i painted them full black. which looked dreary so i added some gold stripes. ahhh. i miss long nails!

Hello Kitty Pastel Dots Nails Tutorial

if you want these nails, follow this super easy tutorial!

i used a gold glitter for kitty's nose cause i've no yellow. For black, i used a Sharpie. not ideal since it bleeds so use black polish if you have it!

i like straighter squarish nails cause they look more neat.

repeat this step if your polish is sheer/thinner.

toothpicks are inexpensive and perfect for dotting, especially those with a flat end.

when it all dried, i applied about 2-3 coats of Canmake's Gel Top coat. My nails are quite thin and normal top coats are fine but this gel top coat is awesome! it gives the semi-illusion of gel nails. of course it wont be as thick(maybe if you applied like 10 coats...) but there is visible thickness after 3 and i love the shine! normal top coats do seal everything in but with this, your nails get "evened out" since it is thick and i only painted the tips. yupp. awesome awesome. plus it dries rather fast. do make sure everything is dried before applying your top coat to prevent any smudging. mine did a bit.

ps. i got these washi tape etc in my resource folder for a very long time so i'm not too sure where i got them from. if you made them and want credits etc please email me thanks!
