TUTORIAL - DREAMCATCHER

my room is currently too plain so i am like on a rampage to decorate it now. hahaha.

i always fancied the idea of a dream catcher, but with my allergies, feathers are a no go!

so i made this from random materials found at home.

Materials:

Exhausted glow stick bracelet

Black yarn

Beads

Paper

Wax

glow stick, yarn, beads.

loop the yarn around tightly. after that i randomly looped them through with beads.

This has a great tutorial on how to wax paper http://www.small-good-things.com/archives/1195 which i used for my wax feathers. basically i used a pencil to draw feathers onto squares of paper and waxed them.

punched a hole and threaded them in!

L'ARC EN CIEL 20TH ANNIVERSARY - SINGAPORE

my new window seals make sunlight turn into rainbows.

tonight, i ticked something off my bucket list! something which in my wildest dreams i thought i wouldn't be able to. i went for my first jrock concert! and not just any, but LARUKU'S. i kind of thought that i would definitely have to go for a jrock concert, but for it to be laruku's, -tears-. (T(ｴ)T)ﾉ

seriously, i watched their 15th anniversary dvd like at least 10 times. (T(ｴ)T)ﾉ

seeing them LIVE, ahhhhhgawdddddd.

im glad i didn't buy the front seats. it was non-elevated so with my shortness sure get blocked! actually i was quite blocked even at my elevated seats, lucky the security made the people in front get off their chairs.  also, i would've combusted if i see him that close up! ♥♥♥

super cute bag!!! ♥ the towel was cute too but sold out. this bag is like the last piece. hee.

the emcee was super funny!!! dear laruku, seriously, thanks for the effort to emcee in englishhh!!!

Other than his epic drum solo, Yukihiro was quietttt.

we managed to get a photo together after the whole concert!

MANGO PUDDING

i want to eat the mango pudding my neighbor made!

it is filled with yummy mango chunks and all. plus not too sweet. waaanntttt.

TUTORIAL - Black and Gold PINS

while i was busy at finals, my folks decided to revamp my room. so now my room is an offwhite color with lots of light! it looks really spacious and all right now. and neat. yes, neat.

this was stuck to my closet door since being the genius that i am, i used super strength double-sided tape too tack this onto the door. hahaha. it was too small for notes and such so i thought, maybe i could put my Ring-Of-The-Day on them!

inspired/copy-spired by the recent stumble upon of revamping old cheap plastic toys by painting them over, i tried them out today! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ

Materials needed:

plastic toys

acrylic paints

thumbtacks

glue

went all around hougang to find these toys. in the end i found it at the bookstore near my house. hahaha. do kids these days not play with plastic toys anymore? finding these were hard. like they only play with ipads or something.  ヽ(´～`) at least they had dinosaurs. malformed dinosaurs. hahaha. these were like, $5 for a reasonable amount.

i like black + gold so i got these gold thumbtacks to match. which is stupid since i have tonnes of silver thumbtacks. hehh.

maybe hot glue would be better but i was afraid the cheap plastic toys will melt so i stuck with UHU.

TADA! done!!! i used my gold nail polishes for accents. and the triceratops had 4 pins so it can hopefully hold up my heavier rings. hahaha. this is damn fun. and easy.

Edit: ohkay, UHU didnt hold well so i peeled them off(most were falling apart on Day 2 even without any accessories!!!) and re-glued the tacks with epoxy instead! holds up really well now and looks better since it didn't have air bubbles when it dried.

with finals over, i am at a lost of things to do now. or rather, at a lost due to the sudden change of schedules etc. no more going to soc to camp for the next few months after a week of camping. meh. my next project is a huge linen pinboard at my new study-table for uhm, school stuff.

GLASS BOTTLE

the thought of living in a glass bottle.

there is quite a bit on my mind these days. the dynamics of relationships, the stress from work, the returns on efforts.

it is week 13 and yet i am still rushing to meet deadlines. and these modules with crazy shit load of assignments end up with still kind of a large percentage for finals. after rushing to complete my assignments, normally i am too brain dead to really continue absorbing/revision. so i end up here typing rubbish or checking emails for work.

then again, i am too brain dead to reply coherently so i shall leave it tomorrow.

making mistakes at work now is just uncalled for. and reflects horridly too.

anyhows, a random thought occurred to me yesterday.

i feel like i am living in this glass bottle. sure it is not all smooth sailing, but my problems are not that huge. although i whine like fuck, i know that they are manageable and dude, seriously they are not that huge a deal. plus i have friends who put up with all my shit. hahaha. so while i am living a protected life, i know just how easily it can be smashed. this was always in the back of my head, but it keeps hounding me rather badly these few days.

i have this gut feeling that something catastrophic will happen soon and shatter this bottle. and i am not sure if i can deal with it. it is like peace waiting to be broken.

shall camp even more productively at com tomorrow. shockingly, it HAD been productive in the basement. managed to finish my cs2105 assignment. with help from the manchurian prince. hahaha. i attribute the productiveness to the fact that there is less human traffic milling pass so less distractions?

houses. i've always been fascinated by cute houses on hills. though i've never really seen any before since the area i stay in comprises of 99% cookie cutter high rises.

in my head, houses are like this. hehh. done purely in photoshop with my mouse.

semi-colored.

when you colored things in any color you wanted and not what they are. i remembered that when i was a kid i used to have these black and white photocopies of a same parrot which i will color many times in different colors. hahaha.

an attempt at quick sketching "real" houses. but i got this reference image off google. the proportions are off though. the amount of details in houses. i've never noticed them till now.
