Nail Polish Review - Liole (Blue Purple) & Etude House (Kiss of Fire)

so i bought a few new polishes from korea a couple weeks back and they finally arrived!

the Etude house - Kiss of Fire gradation set! my nails are quite short so i couldn't do more distinct gradients. i like that it took only 20 mins to get the nails looking more dressed up! i only did a coat each but i should most probably do 2 as they didn't show up too well. though the shine and glitter from just 1 coat was not too shabby!

3 mini bottles in a box. extremely portable.

the light peach was pretty on its own. so was the shimmery pink. the glitter didn't stay too well and needed repeated application though.

the Lioele - Blue Purple. the actual color is darker by a shade. extremely smooth application and it looks so creamy! i love these finishes. just 2 coats and its perfect. i was expecting to use 3 or 4 coats!

close to the actual color.

bought the Lioele - Mint Green one too! i suspect i will end up buying the entire series of pastels that they have since good pastels are hard to come by. hahaha. OPI has some which i like from the Shrek collection but OPI's consistency can be too thin at times. and i'm too impatient for >2 coats.

The Tale of the Unloved Icecream

maybe not being chosen is not that bad at times.

The Coffee that I've Met

year three semester 1

this semester is moving fast. too fast in fact. i feel extremely overwhelmed and actually got quite burnt out by week 6. submitted some assignments which i felt were so sub-par i want to just bury them. sigh. and that is barely half of the semester. ( T▽T )/

the medi-kit which i modelled for our game development module cs4213 using Blender. we are doing a FPS in a sci-fi/dream-state world so i get to model items pretty much any style i like as long as it's consistent. the module kind of suggested Maya + Unity but somehow i like Blender more. it's less frilly and more user friendly for modelling imo. especially the uv texturing bit. learning a lot from my group members and Youtube! Youtube o Youtube, glorious land of tutorials. without it i've no idea how i'll self-learn all these to complete my assignments.

ART JOURNALS

i realized i've not drawn or such for a long time. all i had been doing was felt sewing. so now i've started an art journal. it is basically an old ring binded book about A5 but smaller with paper inserts made from old scraps. upcycle people! so i just glue or collage them and punch holes into them.

cataloguing my random thoughts with drawings and chunks of indecipherable handwriting. one day i might scan it all up but blank out the more sensitive stuff. hehh.

ok. off to cook dinner. instant noodles. yaye. not proud of my unhealthy diet but ugh.

TUTORIAL - DIY EASY CLOTH LABELS

hello kitty donut!

after making these many, i was kind of thinking of putting them in etsy. but something was missing, i realized i needed labels! maybe it's a narcissus syndrome but it's always cute to know where something came from or who made it no? but making labels commercially was no really viable. so i found a way to make my own!

materials:
permanent marker
cotton ribbon
tee shirt transfer paper

the thing is, you could just print it but my printer was not working, so i used the marker and wrote them by hand in reverse. yes, i am talented in writing in reverse. how useful is that!

after writing them, follow the transfer instructions and iron them face down onto the cotton ribbon. it didn't work as well as if i printed them cause of the uneven ink. though i do like the personalized effect that all were handwritten and different. printing onto the transfer would still be a better and faster option though.

on a side note: my nails!!! omsdcsdjb the scotch-tape method is really too fun and the geometric designs are total love!!! they take about 30mins to complete TOPS.

sew them on!
